Join in this holiday season, as The Headquarters at Seaport District, the open-air dining and retail destination in the revitalized former San Diego Police Headquarters, hosts a three-week fundraising and donation program for USO San Diego to benefit active-duty military families. The fundraising program will commence at The Headquarters with the lighting of the 25-foot holiday tree, “The Giving Tree,” in the courtyard alongside USO San Diego officials and military families.

Looking for a race this Thanksgiving? Well, you’re in luck. The Run for the Hungry is San Diego’s premium Thanksgiving Day race event. Participants can choose between a 10K or a 5K Run/Walk that goes through the Gaslamp District and East Village. You can even register your dog.

Bates Nut Farm will be hosting their largest Arts ‘n Crafts Fair of the year over the long Thanksgiving weekend. Over 80 artisans will be selling a variety of handmade crafts and fine art. Each day live bands perform on the Bates stage from 12:00 – 3:00. Friday is Jazz, Saturday features the Ash Street Ramblers, and the Honky Tonk Kings will perform on Sunday. Santa arrives by hayride at 1:00 pm both Friday and Saturday, and he will spend time with young visitors until 3:00 pm.

Discerning jazz fans call the San Diego Jazz Festival “the crown jewel of jazz festivals.” The SD Jazz Fest is a favorite of festival-goers from around the globe. There are large concert rooms with double dance floors and small, intimate “listening” rooms. All are non-smoking. The Festival bands represent a wide variety of traditional jazz, dixieland, ragtime, swing, and rockabilly styles. The Festival offers something for every taste in classic jazz.

Dinosaurs once again roam the earth when the spectacular production, Walking with Dinosaurs The Arena Spectacular, based on the award-winning BBC Television Series, returns to North America. The critics have called this show ‘awesome’, ‘spectacular’ and ‘breathtaking.  This updated production will showcase changes to the dinosaurs based on the latest scientific research including the likely feathering of some species.
